Emerald Lake Lodge, a 4-star historic property on the shores of pristine Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, offers an electronics-lite experience with WiFi available only in the main lodge and guest rooms without televisions.

Cabin-Style Accommodations

Lake View rooms feature king-size beds, spacious sitting areas with sofas in front of fireplaces, and private balconies overlooking the lake and treed shore. The Point Cabin, Emerald Lake Lodge's most exclusive suite, offers one-and-a-half bathrooms including a whirlpool bath, a dining area with refrigerator, and a wrap-around balcony with premier lake views.

Mountain-Inspired Dining

The Mount Burgess Dining Room serves Rocky Mountain Cuisine rooted in hearty meals prepared by European mountain guides and lavish Victorian cooking from early CPR rail cars. The Kicking Horse Lounge features an oak bar salvaged from an 1890's-era Yukon saloon and offers superb regional micro-brewed beers, single malt Scotches, Cognacs, and Ports.

Recreation Options

Guests can enjoy a sauna and outdoor hot tub located in the Club House, along with workout equipment including an elliptical, stationary bike, and yoga mats. For water activities, canoe rentals are available through the independently operated Boathouse Trading Co., while designated hiking trails around Emerald Lake remain open for exploration.

Located just 20 minutes west of Lake Louise and 5 minutes from Field, BC in Yoho National Park, Emerald Lake Lodge is accessible by car. Overnight guests park in a designated lot near the entrance to Emerald Lake with complimentary 24-hour shuttle service to the main lodge.

Staying at the Lodge was an unforgettable experience with breathtaking mountain views and a tranquil atmosphere once the daytrippers left. The rooms were comfortable but could use a refresh, and the dining was excellent across all meals. Although service was solid, it could be improved during busy times. Overall, the location is absolutely stunning, making it worth the price despite some minor downsides.
